What is airport security?
Our job is to keep our airport and aeroplanes safe. We want to stop any baddie who might want to bring dangerous things into our airport. Almost everyone is good, but sometimes people bring dangerous things in their luggage by accident. We need to find these things to keep everybody safe.
How do you do that?
Well, some of our methods are secret… wouldn’t want the bad guys to know all of our methods, but I can tell you a little about our scanners. They are very interesting…
What are we looking for?
Every airport, and every country, has its own list of things that are not permitted in the airport terminal or on the planes.
You should check with your airline for a list of things you cannot take. Some of them may surprise you. For example, a big tube of toothpaste may be banned. Don’t ask me why… I just work here!
Some things are obvious… things you would have to be careful with at home definitely are not allowed into our airport…
