What is Turbulence?

Another reason for bumpy air…

“Orographic” Turbulence

When wind blows over or past something sticking up in the way, such as a mountain, it can get bumpy! Once we climb our plane above the mountains we can expect it to be smooth.

This will definitely make for a bumpy ride!

“Orographic” is just a flash scientific word meaning “to do with mountains”.
